If you are celebrating tonight, I hope you enjoy yourself. I’m not big on celebrating New Year, mainly because I’m not a party person. I prefer to stay at home and have a quiet night in with a nice bottle of wine.
It is also a difficult time for me. My depression is back, as it does during the winter, and family is causing me great stress. I need to start looking after myself better, put myself first for once, and that is what I will try to do this year. I spent too much of my time helping others, so much that I have neglected my own health.
Writing is my main escape, but it can be difficult when you’re stressed. I need to clear my head to get my stories out. So I need to start taking control. I have much I want to write about and hope you like what is in my head, when I get to share it with you. I hope to bring you more Cockaigne Chronicles and more stand alone short stories.
Enjoy your night and raise a glass to me. I will be raising a glass to all my readers and supportors. Happy New Year!
Best wishes for the new year and I hope your depression lifts soon. Kind regards, John.
HAPPY NEW YEARS David! Please remember you are a special man and appreciated by all of us.
Hope 2025 brings some regular moments of joy, David, the way you bring joy to readers. Paul Penn x
Happy New Year, David !!
I think the winter is a rough time for many of us, especially with regards to mental health. I often deal with a bit of depression myself this time of year.
Any chance we might get some updates on the Fletcher family during this upcoming year?
Conversations w/ my brother and chronicles of the Fletcher family are still my favorite stories by you. 🙂
Thanks, Michael. I loved writing about Max and Finn. I’ve also thought relationships between brothers are special. I can’t promise anything, but I certainly think there are more stories about them to be written.
