In Bed With Finn
by David Heulfryn
I woke up early, Finn was still in my arms, and my cock was hard, as usual. I glanced over at the clock, the alarm would start barring in ten minutes, and then I’d have to get up. I thought about last night and how upset Finn became when he thought I wouldn’t agree to the move to Cockaigne. Those feelings of remorse stirred, and I squeezed Finn tightly against me. Finn was more insecure than I had assumed. He always seemed so confident and often gave me sensible advice like he was the older brother. But although he seemed confident on the surface, I had to remember he was still a thirteen-year-old boy (although don’t tell him that). He still had those young boy feelings, and his hormones were more unstable than mine.
I snuggled against the back of his head and felt his almost blond hair tickle my face. I supposed this was the transition for Finn. Going from a boy to a young man. I would miss the cute giggles, the jumping up and down with excitement, and the occasional flushes of embarrassment. I would miss those little boy tendencies as he grew out of them.
Finn stirred. I think I was holding him too tight. I suppose that’s how you kill someone with love. I eased my embrace, and Finn settled again. I lifted my head and looked at his serene face. Asleep, he had no cares in the world. No one to hurt him, no one to let him down. I’d let him down last night. I should have been clearer. I should have seen how he would react to what I was saying. I was selfish. Finn was half asleep; I should have waited. But I didn’t want to go to sleep without talking. I will make it up to him somehow.
The alarm clock flickered, and its screeching tones hurt my ears. I turned it off immediately. Finn was stirring but wasn’t awake yet.
I leaned over and kissed his cheek, “Wake up, Min. It’s time to get up.”
Finn groaned. I stroked his messy hair and smelt the lake. I thought that we must have to shower before getting dressed. I’m surprised Mum didn’t insist we showered when she got home.
I gently stroked his cheek, “Wake up, Min. We need to shower before school.”
Finn groaned again. I checked and could see his eyes were open.
I kissed his cheek again. “Are you okay, Min?” I whispered into his ear.
Finn turned and lay on his back. I released him but stayed on my side; there wasn’t enough room for both of us to lie on our backs on the single bed.
“I feel great.” Finn smiled at the ceiling. He turned to look at me, “Sorry for being so silly last night. I should have trusted you.”
I stroked his hair, “It was my fault.” I looked concerned, hoping he didn’t hold it against me. “But are we okay?”
“Better than okay, Max. I love you and know we’ll love livening in Cockaigne.”
“Thank you.” I leaned down and placed a soft kiss on his lips.
Finn ignored my erection when we got out of bed, I had expected him to tease me or say some smart comment about me missing James, but he didn’t. I think the weekend had exhausted his interest in seeing cocks.
We both wished we could shower together, like in the B&B, but we settled to be in the bathroom together. Finn showered first as I waited, and we talked. Finn couldn’t stop rambling about what he wanted to do when we lived in Cockaigne. I don’t think he drew breath. I showered when he had finished, but he carried on talking. He talked about making new friends, being naked with his friends, and joining sports clubs. He wasn’t sure what he wanted to do. He thought about swimming again. I managed to mention what my rugby coach said about the diving team. That made Finn think for a moment.
As we dressed in our school uniforms, Finn squirmed. “I hate wearing clothes.” He scratched his body through his crisp, white shirt.
“Better get used to it again. I don’t know when we’ll be going back.”
“I know.” Finn sighed. “What are you smiling at?” Finn saw me grinning.
I couldn’t help but think how cute Finn looked in his uniform. How cute we both looked. I suggested we go downstairs. I had to talk to Mum and Dad. Finn excitedly jumped up.
“Come on, Min.” I grabbed his hand and dragged him along with me down the stairs.
Mum and Dad were in the kitchen. Mum looked at us as we stood in the doorway. She furrowed her brow when she saw Finn’s face.”
“What are you grinning about?” Mum asked Finn.
He glanced at me, waiting for me to tell them my decision about the big move. I leaned over and whispered in his ear. “You tell them.”
Finn squealed and jumped up and down, “Max has agreed to move.”
Finn jumped into me, and I grabbed him, hugging him to keep him still. But the moment I released him, Finn bounced over to hug Mum and Dad.
“Calm down, Finn.” Dad laughed and told us to sit down while Mum gave us toast and a glass of orange juice.
Every time I looked at Finn, his face was glowing. He was so happy. I wished I could have frozen this moment for him so he never felt anything else. But Dad quickly brought us all down to earth.
“Listen, Boys.” Dad looked serious. I hoped he wasn’t going to let Finn down. I was nervous, more for Finn than for me. “Now we’ve decided to move to Cockaigne, we need to organise it. But it’s not going to happen overnight.” Dad looked directly at Finn.
“I didn’t think it would,” Finn commented.
“Your Mum and I have talked, and we think it would be best to move when you boys have finished school for the summer. Then you can’t start your new school at the beginning of the year.”
I thought it reasonable.
“But that’s months away!” Finn whined.
“We’ve got to sell this house first, Dear.” Mum placed a hand on Finn’s shoulder. “I will visit the estate agent this morning to put the wheels in motion. Then this week, your Dad will sort out what we need to do while he’s at work. I noticed they had an estate agent, and there are some nice houses. You boys also need your inoculations. We can get that done before the actual move.”
“It’ll be on us before you know. The time will fly by.” Dad said.
“Can we help choose our new home?” Finn sounded excited again.
“Of course, you can, Sweetie.” Mum ruffled Finn’s hair. “We’ll all choose together.”
“Now, finish your breakfast, and don’t be late for school.” Dad smiled at us.
“Yes, Dad.” Finn and I said in unison.
Finn was in bed when I got home from visiting James after school. After his long commute, Dad was home from work, and it gave us a chance to talk without Finn. Mum said he was still tired and suspected he was so excited all day that he had exhausted himself.
Mum wanted to make sure it was my decision, and I hadn’t agreed to move just to please Finn. I reassured them and told them I would go to bed as well. I grabbed my smartphone from my pocket and handed it to Mum. We always had to hand it over before bed so we wouldn’t be playing with it all night.
“Keep it, Max.” Mum smiled, “You both have shown how responsible you are, and we’ve decided to relax some rules.”
I couldn’t help but smile.
“Don’t abuse our trust, though,” Dad said seriously.
“I won’t, Dad. Thanks, Mum. Have you let Finn keep his?” I asked.
“Of course. It wouldn’t be fair if we didn’t let you both keep them.” Dad smiled.
“Thanks. See you in the morning. Good night.”
I expected Finn to be on his phone when I entered our bedroom. But he wasn’t. He was lying in bed, but I couldn’t tell if his eyes were closed.
“Min? Are you awake?” I whispered.
“No,” Finn replied. “I’m tired, but I can’t sleep. I keep thinking too much.”
I sat on Finn’s bed. “What about?”
“About you. About the move. About James. About my friends. They’re happy for me, but Rick seemed sad that I’d be moving.”
I placed my hand on his bare shoulder. “You know you were the fourth thing you said you were thinking about. I think you should perhaps move it into the first place. Think about you first. I know my decision has been the centre of attention, but it’s done now. So think about yourself. How you can keep your friends here and not lose them. Rick is a good friend to you. You don’t want to lose that just by moving a few hours away from him.”
“But I worry about you and James and how it will affect you,” Finn said.
“That’s my business. The next time I hear that you’ve been worrying about me, I’m going to give you a slap.” I smiled.
Finn looked at me, “You wouldn’t dare.”
“Just watch me,” I raised my hand, pretending I was going to slap him.
“I promise I’ll start thinking about me first.” Finn conceded.
“That’s all I ask, Min. Besides, I don’t think I could slap you. I love you too much.”
“Even when I’m being annoying?” Finn giggled.
“Especially when you’re being annoying, Min. It’s so cute.”
I got up and undressed. Finn watched me, but it didn’t bother me anymore. I was comfortable with my family seeing me naked now. I left Finn and brushed my teeth. As I walked to the bathroom, I could hear Mum and Dad talking downstairs, but I couldn’t make out what they were saying. I quickly brushed my teeth and went back into our bedroom.
Finn didn’t say anything when I returned, so I got into my bed. It felt too big and cold.
“Min?”
“Yes, Max,” Finn responded.
“Can I sleep in your bed again tonight?” It was the first time I had asked. The first time I instigated us sleeping together.
“Only if you hold me tight.”
I got out of bed and slipped in beside Finn. We spooned, and I wrapped my arms around him. He felt warm. But I must have been cold as Finn giggled when my body touched his bare back.
“Warm yourself up next time.” Finn squirmed, warming us up.
“Sorry, Min.” We snuggled together and soon got warm again. “Do you want to talk about your friends, Min?” I whispered. I was hoping to help my brother the way he had helped me.
“Rick’s upset that I’m moving,” Finn said flatly.
“See how he feels tomorrow. He’s thinking about himself at the moment and what he’s going to be losing. No one likes it when friends move away. I know I would feel sad if you moved away from me.”
“I know, but I thought he’d be happy for me.”
“He will be. Give him time, Min. It’s come as a shock to him.”
“My other friends were happy for me. They know how much it means to me to live there. They all said they would miss me, but we promised we’d get together from time to time.”
“I think Rick knows that people often say that, but it never happens. But you are not a person to make empty promises. I know you too well. And I think Rick is the same.”
“I told him we would still be friends, and he would always be my best friend,” Finn said.
“It’s still early, Min. You both have a few months to work things out. Make these last few months count. Don’t waste them. Tell Rick the same.”
Finn laughed. I wondered why. “When did you get so sensible?”
“I had a good teacher, Min.” I squeezed my brother tight and kissed his neck.
“Thanks, Max. You’re the best.” Finn yawned.
“So are you, Min. I love you.”
“I love you too.”
I knew Finn would soon be asleep.
