The Best of Brothers
by David Heulfryn

It was Sunday night, and Mum had made sure Max and I had done our homework and got our bags ready for school tomorrow. I had been buzzing all day after coming out that morning and went round to see my best mate who already knew. Max slinked off to meet James again, and I imagined him spending another day touching each other and cumming multiple times.

Max did come home early and watched the telly with us for a couple of hours before we went to bed. I sat on the sofa and leaned against him, my head resting on his shoulder. A few minutes before it was time for us to go to bed, Mum told us that she had some bad news. I jolted upright to look at her.

“What’s wrong,” I asked. Max twisted his head away from the television screen to see what she had to say.

“It looks like your Dad might not be home as much anymore.” She said.

“Why?” I was getting concerned.

“Well,” she paused for effect to increase the tension before she couldn’t help grinning, “it seems your Dad has got a new job.”

I jumped up and hugged Dad in his chair. He remained stiff and only reluctantly hugged me back.

“That’s great news,” Max said.

“That second interview was a success.” Mum said, “Your Dad is now the head of cyber security at a software company. He got a phone call on Friday, and we wanted to wait until he had it in writing. Then today, he got an email. We were both surprised that it came on a Sunday but were so pleased.”

“Congratulations, Dad.” Max cracked a smile, but I could tell he was relieved and glad Dad quickly managed to get a new job.

“It’s a relief,” Dad said, pushing me off him, so I sat back down and snuggled against Max. “And it’s more money. I’ve really fallen on my feet with this job. It’s going to be difficult and long hours, at least to start while I get settled in. It’s also a long commute, so you guys may not see me in the week. Me and your Mum are trying to sort out how it’s going to work.”

I grinned, “Does that mean our pocket money goes up.”

Dad laughed, “No!”

Mum told us not to make plans for next Saturday night as we were all going out to celebrate. She was going to book a table at a nice restaurant. Max asked if James could come. He didn’t want to be away from him for the evening. Mum looked at Dad and said she’d think about it and let him know tomorrow. Mum told us both to go to bed, but before she let us go, she hugged us and told us that she loved us. Dad just sat in his chair, uncomfortable with the spontaneous show of affection.

“I’m glad Dad’s got a new job. It makes today even better after I came out to them this morning, and they were okay with it,” I said to Max as we entered our bedroom. “But it was a bit uncertain at first.”

Max laughed, recalling how their parents reacted to Min coming out, “Have I turned you gay, Min? I can’t believe she asked that. Does she know anything? You can’t turn someone gay, or straight for that matter.”

“I expected you to blow when she said that,” I pulled off my t-shirt and felt the chill. My nipples hardened and became very sensitive.

“I’m surprised too. But deep down, she knows you can’t turn people gay.” Max followed my lead and started to undress. “I thought it went very well. It wasn’t as emotional as when I came out. I can’t believe there were no tears from anyone.”

“I’ll give you some tears if you want someone to cry,” I joked as I sat on my bed and pulled off my socks. Max mirrored me, and I watched as his dirty white socks were thrown towards our dirty linen basket and missing it.

“You would too.” Max smiled, “but I’m glad there weren’t. It shouldn’t have to be emotional telling your parents. And this is the benefit of having a big brother.” Max grinned at me as he unbuttoned his jeans. “I get to do things first, so it’s not such a shock when you do them.”

“So I’m old news, am I?” I stood up and pulled down my grey sweatpants, revealing my white briefs.

“Come on, Min.” Max threw his dirty underpants to join his dirty socks and beckoned me, “Don’t moan. It’s teeth time.”

I quickly shucked off my tiny briefs and followed his naked, pale arse out of our bedroom. We didn’t speak until we were back in our bedroom and bed. Max waited at the door until I had settled, and I smiled at him when I was ready. That was his cue to turn off the light and feel his way in the dark to his bed.

“Ooph!” I heard a bang. Max had kicked his bed and stubbed his toes. “Shit, I need to get used to this damn bed. There’s no room underneath.” He was used to the base raised off the floor rather than a divan bed whose base skimmed the carpet.

“Are you alright?” I asked.

“Fine,” Max huffed and got into bed.

“How many times did they ask me if I was sure this morning?” I asked rhetorically, “Mum even said she’d seen us grow close these past few months and seen how I look up to you. What did she call it?” I laughed, “Hero worship. I mean, imagine you being my hero? Have you ever heard anything so ridiculous?” I teased.

“I know, Mum and Dad actually thinking you are smart enough to realise what a great brother I am. They give you too much credit.” Max chuckled.

“Really, Max.” I turned serious, “I don’t think of you as my hero, but I do look up to you. You are the best brother I could wish for. I’m so glad you’re happy. It makes me happy. And I really like James. He’s good for you. I would like to get to know him better, but I don’t want to be a gooseberry and spoil your fun.”

“I don’t mind, Min. Perhaps we should do more things together, we could go out as a foursome, me, you, James and his brother. It will be fun. Marc sees more of me than you do of James. I’ll arrange something next time I see James. He likes you, you know? He always asks me how you are as he knows how important you are to me.”

“I like him too. I especially like how he’s changed you and made you more confident.”

“Thanks, Min,” Max said.

“I still think Mum and Dad think it’s a phase or me just copying you. I don’t think they think I have a mind of my own, but I wasn’t going to tell them about my crush. They might stop me from going to my gymnastics club. My coach thinks I’ve got potential and worries I’m doing too much.” I sighed, “I’ve not mentioned this before because I wanted to think things through first, but he suggested I was doing too much and perhaps I should consider specialising.”

“In what? What type of disciplines should you specialise in?” Max asked.

“Well, that too. But he was really asking me to consider dropping my swimming.”

“Oh,” Max said, “How do you feel about that. I’m not agreeing with him, but you are doing things most evenings. Are you finding doing both too much?”

“Not at the moment.” I said, “But he went on about my body, how it would change and now was a good time to develop it in the best way for gymnastics. He said I’m likely to stay smaller than others, making me more suitable for gymnastics than swimming. He mentioned some Olympic swimmers like Adam Peaty. He says the best are always taller and bigger than normal. He even mentioned their feet.” I laughed, “he says big feet are a bonus in swimming. He looked at my feet and said they were tiny.” I got out of bed, went over to Max, and put my right foot next to his pillow. He flinched and looked at my foot in the darkness.

“They are kinda small.” Max agreed with my coach.

“So I don’t know what to do.” I sat on Max’s bed. “What do you think?”

Max thought a moment, “Well, training for two sports is difficult, and I see his point. He thinks you can’t fully commit to one while doing the other. Which do you prefer?” He asked.

“I’ve been trying to work that out. I enjoy them both, but I seem to have to work twice as hard in swimming just to keep up with the others. Perhaps he’s right.”

“It’s about what you enjoy doing more. And it doesn’t mean you have to totally give up one. You could still go swimming in your spare time. I could come with you.” Max said.

“You’re right, Max. I need to give up swimming and concentrate on gymnastics. The coach said that when I turn fourteen, he wants me to do some weight training to build up my muscles. I’m too young now, or so he says, but I know some boys my age have weights at home, so they are doing it without Coach knowing. But he says I could damage myself as my bones are still growing.”

“Don’t make any quick decisions. Take as much time as you need. You still have plenty of time to specialise.”

I shuddered, feeling the chill on my naked body. “Thanks, Max.” I couldn’t resist brushing his fringe away from his eyes. I leaned down and briefly kissed his lips, “You are the best.” I went back to my bed to get warm again.

“You know, Min?” Max spoke, “We’re lucky. I know Dad lost his job, and we’re not that well off, but Mum and Dad are okay. They haven’t disowned us for being gay. They have accepted us and still love us. We have some good mates.”

“Except Pete.” I interrupted.

“Except Pete,” Max agreed, “And we are the best brothers ever.”

“Promise me we’ll never grow apart?” I said to Max, the best brother I could wish for.

“I promise, Min. But I’m not going anywhere for at least another four years. You could end up hating me by the time I go to university.”

“I could never hate you, Max. Besides, who says you’re smart enough to go to Uni?” I giggled. “Unless you take your hands off James’ cock and concentrate on school, you’ll never get the grades.”

“I work hard!” Max said petulantly.

“On James’ cock,” I muttered loud enough for Max to hear.

“You’re just jealous, you little shit. Jealous that I’ve got James and you haven’t got anyone. You’re sad, lonely and alone with only a vague hope of having a ginger boyfriend.” Max laughed.

“I know what you’re trying to do, Max. But it won’t work. I’m not going to bite. I’m too happy and excited for both of us.”

“I am too, Min.”

“I love you, Max.”

“I love you, Min.”

  1. Thanks for an other great update David. Looks like the bond betweet both brothers keeps growing. So very heart warming to read. I am happy this story helped you and that it gave you inspiration to continue it for a little bit longer.
It is great their dad found a new job in IT. Although you have not mentioned where his job is located, you told us he’ll be away from home more and for longer periods. Could it be he found his job in Cockaigne?

It is also great to read you finished the next story about Kes. I will be looking forward to read it, and to see if he found his way in Cockaigne. Did he stay with his ‘boyfriend’ or did you give him an other direction in his life. Guess we’ll have to wait patiently!
