Why The Wait?

An-orange-highway-safety--012Some of my readers and authors know a little of my history. The BBC is currently running a series of programmes and articles called “In The Mind” all about mental health. So I thought I might add my own contribution.

I have been suffering from depression for many years, since adolescence. Although I am taking medication and for the most part it is under control, I do suffer from replases. And just after the New Year I suffered a severe relapse of the type I have not had for many years.

When I relapse I have a coping mechanism of totally shutting myself off from the outside world. For the past month and a bit I have done nothing but work and sleep, my online life fell off a cliff. Ironically, I always felt better at work.

I am now much better, although still not back to normal, and feel more able to get back to carry on with my life.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding.

Happy New Year

With the internet reaching people from all continents and all time zones, the clocks turning to midnight in any one timezones seems more and more insignificant. So with New Year now sweeping across the globe I would like to wish all my readers and authors a great 2016.

Each year brings us great joy and also sorrow. I sincerely hope that you all get more joy than sorrow this year.

2016 also sees the tenth year od Screeve! Who would have thought it would have lasted this long! Well we all need something to do when we get back from work that takes our mind off it all. So thank you to all the authors and readers that make Screeve such a great site.

I will be raising a glass of something fizzy to all of you this evening. So enjoy and let’s make 2016 great!

Happy New Year

New Host, New Design

Hi folks, I’ve moved to a new webhost. This one is more adult site friendly, not that my last host had an issue with Screeve, but the potential was there. So here we are with a new host. And because we are with a new host I thought a new site design was in order.

I have droppen my usual site designer software and have moved to a CMS. It means I can update the site on any computer, so when I’m travelling all I need is to take my little netbook or tablet with me and I can keep the updates coming.

I’ve not changed the design dramatically, but over the coming months and years I will be including more cover art and possibly some pictures.

Let me know what you think at the usual address and if you find any problems or broken links then let me know.

All the best to you all devoted fans.
